Excerpt:

YOU belong to me, Leo."
The voice spilled over him like liquid silk, the man's face a dark shadow in the twilight. Leo lowered his head to nuzzle the hairless balls, to drink in the rich, hypnotic scent he craved. Under his palms, strong thigh muscles tensed, moving under sweat-soaked skin. Leo moved his mouth, pressing kisses up his lover's long, hard shaft. Strong fingers twisted in Leo's hair, dragging his mouth to the weeping slit.
"Open your mouth. Suck me." The deep, sensual voice commanded.
Leo swiped his tongue across the tip, the familiar, rich, musky flavor bursting across his tongue. His heart clenched. He loved this man with a soul-destroying passion. This man completed him. His dream lover, his ultimate fantasy. Leo moaned in bliss. He couldn't wait to taste him again and lunged forward to slide his tongue across the velvet shaft.
I don't know your name. Tell me your name.
The bed began to lurch and roll. The dream faded and he awoke achingly hard and frustrated. Damn it. Why do I always have the same dream?
"Winds of up to one hundred and fifty miles an hour . . . ."
Leo Marshall lifted the baseball cap off his eyes and yawned. What was that?
Stretching, he eased out of the chair and moved to the edge of the boat to pull in his fishing rod. The balmy summer day had vanished, hidden behind a violent, black storm front. Clouds of every shade of grey charged across the sky. An icy wind cut through his t-shirt and whipped the once glassy blue ocean into angry white caps. In the distance, lightning illuminated flashes of the coastline, misshapen behind a wall of torrential rain.
Fuck. Leo secured his belongings and ducked inside the cabin. On the two-way, he could hear the Coastguard giving out warnings. He radioed in his details and position.
"You won't make it to Harper's Peak. Didn't you hear the warnings?" came the response. "You will have to try and ride it out. We have your position. Do you have a satellite beacon?"
Leo ran a hand through his hair. He'd ridden out many storms and his boat was well equipped to handle a storm front. "Yes, I do, thank God."
The Coastguard signed off and Leo stood transfixed, watching the sea join the inky blue of the sky and close in around him, plunging him into twilight. The Laura Jane rolled and dipped, huge waves crashing over her bow. Leo dragged on his life jacket and pulled his way to the stern to up anchor. Wind tore off his baseball cap; it dragged his long hair from its binding and whipped it across his eyes. Brushing at his face, he looked up at the savage sky; his eyes widened. "Holy fuck."
Highlighted by blanket lightning, a funnel rose from the sea. The awesome beast swirled high into the clouds and danced across the ocean like a giant hydra. Long trails of water undulated from its twisting neck with gaping maws. The wind roared, lashing salty rain into his face and tearing at his clothes with icy fingers. Leo dropped the anchor on the deck and battled his way back to the cabin. I have to get out of here. He depressed the start button on the engine, once, twice.
Nothing.
He ran his arm over his face, swiping at the seawater stinging his eyes, and depressed the button again. "Come on girl."
The motor caught and burst into life. Leo laughed in triumphant desperation and fought frantically to turn the craft around. A great surge of white water picked up the Laura Jane and dragged the small craft up to the crown of a gigantic wave. Leo clung to the wheel, water swirling in the cabin up to his knees. The boat hovered on the crest then surfed down the shimmering wall at world record speed. Leo looked down the face of the twenty-foot wave and gasped. I'll never out run it.
The boat crashed into the foaming water, bobbing like a cork. It lurched to one side and the crab basket and fishing tackle slammed against Leo's legs. In his hands, the slippery wheel fought against him, spinning one way and then the other. The bow dipped sharply and the propeller broke free of the waves, the engine screaming in protest. The sea roared its discontent, and before him, a whirlpool opened up, a giant vortex sucking everything into oblivion.

But when an enemy from within nearly costs Larke his life, Droje's efforts to protect him could end their relationship and rob Larke of his chance to help the rebellion as only he can. In this third volume of the Freedom series, Larke learns that before he can free others, he must first free himself.

Droje leaned back to peer at him. "When you said you wanted to come with me, I expected to have to tell you it would be too dangerous to contact anyone to say goodbye, but the subject never came up."
"Because there isn't anyone."
Droje ran a finger down the side of Larke's face. "I'm sorry."
The touch awoke a longing deep inside Larke, not for sex, but just for simple companionship—to be known and accepted by another person. He suddenly recalled being sixteen and walking home from school alone, watching as a block ahead his classmates joked and roughhoused with each other. He'd been about to join them when one of the girls, Brianne, had glanced back at him and whispered something to the others. They'd all laughed, looking at him and whispering and laughing even more. The word "drake" had drifted to him on the warm spring breeze.
He'd forgotten all about that. That was the day he'd decided he was better off without friends. He'd built his whole life and his sense of self around that decision and right now, the shine of Droje's eyes and the tenderness of his touch were unraveling it. This wasn't sex. This was something else, something he hadn't thought possible. He wanted it, but what if he couldn't handle it?

Unbound, the third book in my Freedom Series, launches this Friday and all next week I'll be on tour, sharing the news about Larke and Droje's latest adventure. Actually, sometimes it will me be, and sometimes it will be some special guests you won't want to miss. So pop over to these fabulous blogs next week and be sure to leave a comment. At each stop I'm giving away a free copy of His Own Devices, which is set in the same world as the Freedom series, and whose protagonists make a cameo appearance in Unbound.

Excerpt

Gabriele lay on the bed. Lucca closed the door quietly and went to his twin. He eased Gabriele's boots off gently. Gabriele stirred and made what sounded like a protest, but otherwise didn't respond. After setting the boots aside, Lucca untied his brother's pants and worked them down over the slender hips, then finally off. Gabriele had several bruises along both thighs, no doubt from debris. Lucca growled and grit his teeth, fingers tracing one bruise just about mid-thigh. A knock on the door snapped him from the anger and he stood.
"Water, Master Lucca?" A young boy, one of several, stood with a bucket full of water in each hand.
"Yes, please." Lucca went back to the bed and draped the blanket over Gabriele. Then he nodded.
The serving boys came in one after another, pouring buckets of heated water into the tub. They stopped when it was several inches from the top, and one handed Lucca a sliver of coarse soap and a dingy cloth. Tossing the cloth to the side, Lucca set the soap on the floor and went to get Gabriele. Gabriele groaned softly, a welcome sign of consciousness returning.
"Come on," Lucca coaxed, helping Gabriele to sit before tugging his twin's shirt off. "Let's get you clean. Then I can look at those wounds."
"I'm fine," Gabriele grumbled.
For once, Lucca smiled at Gabriele's protest. It meant his twin was on the mend. "Of course you are. Show me. Get in the tub."
Gabriele scowled but went along anyway, letting Lucca ease him down into the steaming water. "It's hot."
"Cleans better that way." Lucca knelt beside the tub and cupped some water, letting it pour over Gabriele's chest. Then he wet the soap and handed it to Gabriele. "If you don't want me to do it, then you'd better start washing."
"Bastard."
Lucca chuckled and got up, leaving Gabriele to wash. "Are you in pain?" he asked, reclining back on the bed, propped on his arms.
"A bit, but nothing I can't handle." Gabriele glanced over at him. "What are we going to do, Lucca?"
Sighing, Lucca fell onto his back and stared blankly up at the weathered timber ceiling. "I don't know." Helplessness was not something he dealt with easily, especially now. He glared upward, the scowl deepening. They had never been overly close to their parents, though their mother showed more affection than their father had. In truth, it was Alessandra they both mourned. A knot formed in Lucca's throat. Alessandra hadn't been like their parents. She'd possessed a love for life that rivaled Lucca's, and she'd never expressed any opinion on his proclivities. Her laughter filled his mind and he squeezed his eyes shut in an attempt to block it out. There would be time to mourn her, but, for now, he had his brother to protect.
"Lucca?"
"Hmm?"
"Are we going to Rome?"
Lucca mused over the idea for a few minutes, weighing what options they had left. "We could. Are you certain that's what you want?" Gabriele had always been more tied to the family than Lucca had. Lucca's sole purpose in life was his brother. It was something he couldn't deny, something he wouldn't deny. It was also something he doubted he could ever tell Gabriele.
"I'm sure," Gabriele said quietly. "You will go with me, won't you?"
"I will never leave you, Gabriele."
They grew quiet, the silence stretching between them. Lucca saw it all in Gabriele's face when he dared to look: the shock, the fear, the sorrow. Each one he felt as well, but he refused to let himself succumb to grief. He still had Gabriele, and whether the man admitted it or not, Lucca knew Gabriele looked to him for answers, always had. But Lucca didn't have any answers this time. Not for this.
He had no idea what set their family's home ablaze. All he knew, all he remembered, was coming home to chaos and not knowing where his twin was. That had been the worst, the primary reason he'd acted without real thought. To never see those eyes again would have killed Lucca far quicker than smoke or flame.
"You're quiet."
Gabriele stood before him, rivulets of water cascading down a slender body Lucca had often dreamed of holding, of touching. Perhaps it was because he stared too long, or maybe Gabriele read something in his gaze that Lucca wasn't aware he'd projected. Whatever it was, Lucca found himself looking up, and Gabriele looking down. For a moment, they just stared at each other in silence.
Then Gabriele bent and kissed him.
Shock riveted Lucca where he lay, his eyes wide as Gabriele stood back up.
"I'm sorry." Gabriele's expression turned to one of disbelief. He spun around and started to walk away. Lucca caught him, and before Gabriele had a chance to change his mind, Lucca tugged him closer again. "Lucca. Please. I don't want to fight. I'm sorry. I should never have done that."
"No," Lucca said. He stood slowly, bringing their faces closer together. "I should have."
Lucca didn't give his twin a chance to apologize again. He caught Gabriele in another kiss, pressing their closed lips together. Gabriele sighed and then those lips parted, giving Lucca his first taste of the only man he'd ever loved. Instead of pulling away like he'd expected, Gabriele's arms slid around his neck, and then his twin was returning the kiss, Gabriele's tongue toying with his in ways Lucca had only fantasized about.
It was Gabriele who broke the kiss, resting his forehead to Lucca's. "What have we done?"
When he found he really had no way of answering, Lucca closed his eyes and shook his head. "Comforting," he said finally. And if that was all it had been, then so be it. He'd gotten the kiss he'd wanted since they were thirteen. If he never got another one, he at least had this one moment in time to carry him through the rest of his life.

The Layover by C.V. Madison

Locke walked out of his pants and worked the buttons free of his shirt. It slid from his shoulders in the doorway to his bedroom. "I got neighbors, yeah, bu-- damn." He came to a dead stop and devoured the sight of the near naked man before him.
While he wouldn't say Wilder was ripped, he was defined. The lines of his abs curled all the way to the rise of his hips. As a horseman, he had broad, well muscled thighs and through the shed of clothing across the small main room, the man was still wearing his hat.
Locke grinned wickedly, tugging his tie from his neck. He dropped it to the floor and backed into the small bedroom. "Leave the hat on.”
With a tip of his Stetson Wilder crossed the abbreviated foyer. His bravado showed in his stride, a cocky strut of pending glory awaiting him just feet ahead. He lingered just past the doorway, giving a low whistle before he struck out for the bed again. He fingered a small length of rope he palmed from his jeans pocket.
