Unlawful by Jessica Freely

Blurb:
In a world where being gay is unlawful and slavery is legal, two men fight for their lives, for their desires, and for justice. Larke is a corporate lackey with a secret. Droje is a freedom fighter on the run. Each spells trouble for the other, but the passion between them will not be denied, no matter what the risk.

This is a short lgbt science fiction erotic romance set in the universe of Jessica Freely's bestselling novella, His Own Devices. Previously only available for a limited time to readers who purchased His Own Devices during release week, it can now be enjoyed by everyone.

"No."
At the sound of the word — little more than a moan, really — Larke froze. The hair on the back of his neck stood on end.
The voice came from behind a dumpster just ahead of him.
Larke's heart raced. He looked back at the mouth of the alley. Had Prinde and the others passed by already? Could he sneak back that way? He had no way of knowing. It was too risky.
Behind the dumpster, something moved, and gasped -- in pain? Concern threaded its way through Larke's fear like a silken thread, drawing him forward. Keeping close to the far wall of the alley, Larke stepped carefully, trying to remain as silent as possible.
In the nook formed by the dumpster and the alley wall huddled a man.
He was naked.
Was he an uncon, then? But even through the dampness and the dirt, Larke could see his pale blond hair. No one could be that blond and not be Hanovan and Hanovans always had contracts. Unless of course they were convicted of a crime.
Larke stepped closer.
